and i am thankful, not really thankful, that i actually did not take so much photos for week 2 hahaha!
because lessons started and we didnt really have the chance to go further than guang gu!
sooooooooooooooooooooo apart from all the daily life events, i'm just gonna blog about 2 days!
our site visit to the coca cola factory, and the 3 gorges dam (god damn).
the coca cola factory visit was......... unnecessary. at all.
don't even know who's idea was it that planned this.......... but ok.
at least we did step inside and really look at stuffs instead of going there, looking at the exterior only.
y'all will understand why i am so worked up w this after week 4 or 5 i think?
photos from the coca cola factory:
so apart from looking at their past popular merchandise, we also saw the manufacturing process,
just that it was from a viewing hall at the top, so not much details except explanation and imagination......
thats it. lol. an hour site visit.
nextttttttt, the 3 gorges dam.
a 3 days 2 nights boat trip, and we were told there may not be enough water, or unsuitable food dishes etc.
SO we bought loads of snacks and drinks as though we were going for war. no kidding.
stuffed the food all into one bag that was around the bag we stuff our clothes for the trip.
so on the first day we travelled....... 6 hours of bus ride, and with dinner etc, we reached the jetty at 9pm.
and finally board the boat. the boat.
frequent black outs, no hot water unless the boat is moving........ i was gonna faint.
and our room's toilet door couldnt close!!! so tough trying to keep it closed and bathe at the same time.
BUT. i liked the bed. LOL. not sure if because it is a thin layer of mattress so there wasnt springssss,
but i always fall asleep soundly without waking up till the morning hahahaha!
the first night i slept right after i lied down, directly after dinner, without washing up, at just around 10pm+!!!
IT WAS THAT EXTREME. no i wasnt very tired, i slept through the entire bus ride!!
day 2.
the others went for an optional trip while tw and i stayed in the cabin to.... supposedly study but we napped.
LOL.
after lunch, we went to.......... bai di cheng! we were actually away from hubei, at chong qing already!
i'm not really good at explaining the history etc so................ photos:
ok the only thing i remember is the part where they put the coffins on the mountain part!
we were told that it is still unsure how they put the coffins there..... but i googled!
and this was the result from this website: http://www.chinatravel.com/focus/yangtze-river/hanging-coffin.htm
The first is, after someone died the descendents would chisel caves out of the cliffs for placing the coffins. The coffins were then let down by rope from the top of the mountains. The higher the coffins were put, the more filial the descendents were.
The second way is, people cut tunnels and caves in the cliffs and then destroyed the tunnels to avoid robbing of the graves.
The third suggestion is, the coffins were lifted using block and tackle. Of course, the lifting equipment was removed after use.
quite fascinating yet also quite spooky hmmmmm.................
more photos from the afternoon trip!
day 3:
packed up and we were ready to leave the boat!!
bus-ed to this other jetty where we had this boat ride to qu yuan's hometown, jiu wan xi!
photos:
after we arrived, there was this part where we climbed the mountain to experience....
and i thought it was just a small walk wtf. if i had knew what it was.... i would probably stop already!
i think i really have a phobia against things that.... don't seem to be secure enough?
not those insecure psychological thing, but i mean physically!!
walking on a floating bridge was definitely fine, i mean at least it was on the water!
but when the bridge shakes........ ho ho ho. ok its not really that bad because at least can swim!!
but the part where we went up to the mountain and some part where the pathway was built.....
ON EMPTY SPACE BELOW. where you even see the space below.
and see only rods supporting the pathway you are stepping, it freaks me out.
i just wanna stand near as possible to the mountain and never look down at all.
thankfully no idiots jumped on it. if not i would have just shivered, squat down and never continue anymore.
and yes this is the reason why i absolutely hate cable cars.
on the same height level is fine, like singapore's, but never those going uphill or downhill.
ESPECIALLY WHEN I KEEP STARING AT THE TOP, AND NOTICE ITS NOT BALANCED!!!
yes this is a coffin we saw with our own eyes!!! ok not everyone because the boat just passed by.
photo grabbed from Mr Yuen's facebook! his camera is (Y) hahahah.
and then we home sweet home back to our hostel and tada end of week 2!!
